Populism in Today’s Politics

A Pre-State of the Union Conversation

We need a populist revival in America.  We need to hear from leaders who will fight for American workers and those who don’t have the power of big business.  On Monday, January 24, 2011, Senator Sherrod Brown, Jim Hightower and Democratic consultant Vic Fingerhut joined us to talk about how we will use the populist message and agenda to bring our economy back and win in 2012.

Meet Our Speakers

Sherrod Brown

Since January of 2007, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown – a leading progressive in the Senate – has fought to find ways to rebuild our economy.  A staunch advocate for American Manufacturing, fair trade, health care reform, and consumer protection, Senator Brown has fought tirelessly for the American middle class family.

Vic Fingerhut

A pioneer among Democratic polling and media consultants, Vic is one of the only Democratic consultants who  successfully stopped and reversed right-wing, populist movements — like those the Democrats faced in 2010.

Jim Hightower

National radio commentator, writer, public speaker, and author, Jim Hightower has spent three decades battling the Powers That Be on behalf of the Powers That Ought To Be – consumers, working families, environmentalists, small businesses, and just-plain-folks.
